Antlantis

You guide the colony; the ants do the work. Press Play on a level to start.
How to play
  1. Lay trail, then tap a green leaf pile. Workers start hauling leaves.
  2. Dig a chewing chamber and a fungus garden underground. Farmers turn leaves into mulch, then mulch plus dew into fungus.
  3. Lay trails to dew (blue) and insects (brown), dig a butchery and a nursery to raise new ants. The nursery needs eggs from your queen (the big gold ant), so dig it near her chamber.
  4. Worker ants haul goods through your tunnels, so keep busy chambers close to a storeroom. Some pairs work faster side by side: butchery + nursery, chewing chamber + fungus garden, queen + nursery.
  5. Food slowly spoils; deep storerooms keep it longer. In fall, gather seeds (yellow) and bake seed bread in a granary: it never spoils and feeds the colony in winter.
  6. Ants who stick with a job become veterans and work faster. Crowded trails slow down, so spread foragers over several sources.
  7. Fungus gardens make refuse. Haul it to a midden dug far from gardens, or mold will blight them. The midden makes rich soil that boosts gardens.
  8. Flowers and aphids give sugar: it speeds up workers and diggers, and a nectar kitchen turns sugar + protein into royal nectar that doubles the queen's egg-laying.
  9. Digging piles soil by the entrance. A clay works makes bricks, and bricks turn trails into fast, bird-proof tunnel highways.
  10. Rain pours down the entrance and runs downhill through your tunnels, flooding the lowest chambers. Raise the entrance mound (tap it) with soil pellets, dig a drain sump below your chambers (gravel soaks water away fastest), or line important chambers with bricks.
  11. Ants age: they live about two years and slow down when old. Their bodies are recycled as insect bits when protein is short, otherwise taken to the midden (change it in the Colony panel). Keep raising new ants.
  12. The goal: the nuptial flight. At 40 ants, dig a royal brood chamber to raise winged princesses (gold) and males. When flight weather comes (late spring or summer), press Launch flight and tap the birds to protect the swarm. Each princess that survives and mates founds a new colony.
  13. Watch out for birds: tap a diving bird to send its trail's foragers running for cover.
Scroll or pinch to zoom, drag to move around. The minimap jumps anywhere. Esc or right-click drops a tool.
